My SHG Store is a purpose-driven initiative created to support and promote women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) by providing them with a digital platform to reach a wider market.
I am Aryan Rout, a student of Anthropology at Khallikote Unitary University. The idea of My SHG Store was first conceived during my Class 12, when my friend Priyattam and I began discussing ways to connect grassroots women entrepreneurs with customers through technology. Our academic exposure to society, livelihoods, and development further strengthened this vision.
The inspiration behind this initiative is deeply personal—my mother is a member of a Self Help Group. Seeing her journey, hard work, and the challenges faced by SHG women in accessing fair markets motivated me to create a platform that truly represents their efforts and skills.
My SHG Store brings together authentic, locally made products crafted by SHG women while ensuring a simple, transparent, and customer-friendly shopping experience. Each purchase made on this platform contributes directly to women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and community development.
